Disgust is green.

It tastes like spoiled food in my mouth.
It smells like the hot pools at Parikia.
It sounds like little vegetables whispering in my ear.
It feels like a wet garbage bin up my nose.  

Narrative story

Hi my name is Jasper and I have been stuck in the forest for 4 months now but anyways let me tell you how I got stuck out here, it all started at a party. “Alright kids are you ready for a nerf war in our backyard” said my mum, everyone was so excited. So the battle began. It was me and my friend John, “let’s split up, I’ll go left you go right ok” I said, so we split up and that’s when I got nerves.

I started to get scared and I could feel a drip of sweat running down my face, then I noticed that I was lost. I panicked yelling out mum mum! But I didn’t get a answer. I tried to retrace my footsteps but then I could hear people screaming, so I ran and ran then called out “MUM MUM!” and I got back home. Then my mum was so happy to see me and asked “where have you been” and I said “I got lost while I was doing the nerf war” so we went inside and all I could hear is the kids having fun.

So I went to bed and looked outside then fell straight to sleep. I woke up the next morning and went to play outside in the forest but I didn’t go too far away so that I wouldn’t get lost again. After a few minutes I already heard a rustle in the bush.

I reached out to see what was inside the bush and BOOM! I just got  jumpscared by a rat. I looked round there was no sighting of my house or mum so I got nerves again, this time I was for sure lost I sat down and leaned against a log and started crying.

So I was crying for about round 2 minutes but I had to get cracking so I started of building a shelter because it was sunset. So I camped up against a rock hill in a stable cave, this is what I used to build my hut.

1. Sticks and twigs
2. Leafs for the roof
3. Tall grass for the floor and blanket
4. Rocks for decoration around the hut.
5. Flax to tie the sticks together

I woke up and started collected rocks and sticks straight away.I thought to myself I must be world wide right now. My mum was on news and she was telling everyone around the world to get them to find me and the award was $10,000 if they found me. I found a good fat stick and sharpened it with a rock. Eventually I finished sharpening my stick and made a spear and went spearfishing.

It’s night time already I thought to myself I need to make a fire to cook my fish instead of eating it raw. “Mmm, mmm, mmm that was delicious” I said to myself, I went to the river and climbed to the top of the mount to see if I could spot my house. I did a 360 turn around and spotted my house but it was sunset so I went back to my shelter and rested. “Ahh, it’s the morning” I said so I wasted no time and set some rocks down so I can go back to my shelter and not get lost. After a few minutes I walked back and finnley made it back home and I was so happy to see my mum and then I took a nice warm shower and got dressed and had a milo and said to my mum “ I may have got some people lost trying to find me” then we stopped and laughed and laughed.

The waves crash, they are a massive boulder hitting the center of earth.

You are flying high in the sky on a hoverboard.

You can feel the breeze on your body, it’s the only way you could feel how bad antarctica would be you see.

     

You can see the wave about to slam on you, it is a ginormous cold pillow, self destructing into a thousand little rain drops.

It was a gloomy and mysterious forest.

I was strolling down the spooky forest. I came face to face with a GINORMOUS mountain to climb.

I was so worn out when I was climbing the mountain, I said to myself “I can’t do this any more”. Until FALLING ROCKS came tumbling down the mountain! I was so frightened when  I heard BOOM CRASH BOOM!. I was moving left right and center, but I managed to dodge the falling rock that tumbled. I was thinking that maybe I could make this easier, if I could pretend that if I was in a game and go stage by stage. So there were tons of stages, (well you can tell that there were lot’s of stages just by looking at me) but never mind that. I was finally at the top of the

HUMONGOUS mountain, it was such a good view “I could see a lake, a village and a village being attacked, wait, what. Never mind”, I was so proud of myself until I realized that the sun was going down. I had to climb the challenging mountain all the way back down I said “you win mountain”. So I tried to take a short cut and jumped of the high mountian, down into the lake and it was a high jump from the mountain and I made it (well sort of) I died  unfortunately because I belly flopped on the water Then end.

These are the things that you will need in order to make a hangi:

River stones

Volcanic rocks

Lighter

Trays

Kai (food)

Shovels

Manuka wood

Sacks

Cabbage

Tarps

Hose.

Follow these steps on how to make a hangi:

1. First you will have to find a good place to dig a hole.
2. The make a pile with the manuka wood.
3. Then you will dig the hole.
4. After put volcanic rocks on top.
5. Get the food.
6. Then place the cabbage on top.
7. Put the food on top and light the fire.
8. Wait for the fire to burn down.
9. Take the ashes out.
10. After put the food onto the volcanic rocks with water.
11. Wet the sacks.
12. Put the sacks over the food and then put the tarp on  the food then bury the

           hole up.

   13. Wait for a few hours so the food cooks.

   14. At the end un bury the food then eat it and ENJOY.

The hangi

Splish splosh splish splosh it was a revolting day and I forgot to bring gumboots so my shoes got destroyed. But it was finally time to help them make the hangi and be involved with it. My class came down the soaking hill, when they saw the hangi some of there faces were looking like OMG! What is that a gigantic beast guarding the kai.

When we all arrived to grab our food Hinia said a karakia to thank our kai and those involved in the hangi. Then my mouth went crazy for the food and started anticipation when I saw the kai. As soon as it was our turn I said in my mind every dig in I was that excited to eat.

Eventually when we got back to class we all started to eat and a few people didn’t like it but a few did. If I had to rate out of 100 it would be 100 out of 100% that is what I would rate. Also if I had to ask this question what food did you like and dislike? I would choose every single bit except the cabbage. But I enjoyed it like I enjoy living with my family and it was THE GREATEST DAY EVER!!!!!!.

Croatian Traditional Way Of Cooking

A traditional way of cooking in croatian is a peka. 

A peka is a large metal baking dish with a bell-shaped dome lid. It is used to cook food in an open fireplace, with hot coals and embers placed on top of the dome for even, slow cooking. Meat, poultry, fish and vegetables can all be cooked in this way, and the finished dish is also referred to as peka.

It was a great and sunny bright day when It was Sunday afternoon. Me, dad and mum when out to town where everyone was just meandering around, then we went downtown and looked in the bike shop to buy me a helmet. After that we went to a Chinese restaurant where the food was delightful, we ordered dumplings, noodles and lot’s of over delicious food. Then my time of my life my day has come we went to noel leeming befor we left, that it shined in my eyes I said in my mind I’ve been waiting for this in years my PS4. I was drifting up and down waiting for it to come, it was brilliant and it was the time of my life.

Sir Peter Blake

What leadership means to me:

Being a responsible person that handles the role of leadership by trying to solve problems in a careful and responsible way. They are able to handle situations in a calm way. They get ideas of how to make our world happy.
A captain in a rugby team will make them try hard by being strict but not making them sad or lose interest of the game.
In my role as student leader at Oratia school I ask people around our school how to make our school better, I also give tours around the school for visitors. I feel proud of my role at Oratia school.

I am going to talk about a great leader and his name is Sir Peter Blake.

Peter Blake was famous for yacht racing in New Zealand. Sir Peter Blake was a good leader because he bought New Zealand together. He bought New Zealand together by setting goals and constantly keeping on trying to achieve his goal. It was to win the America's cup, and how did he achieve that? Well he was using teamwork. He led his team to victory by setting goals and being a good leader.

Sir Peter Blake was a great leader because he believed in himself and New Zealand believed in him and we appreciate the honour that he gave to New Zealand.

 Another New Zealander I believe to be a role model to young New Zealanders is Ricardo Christie.

Ricardo is a world champion surfer. He represents New Zealand for WSL AKA World Surf League.

He's a great leader because he sets his goals and is achieving his goals.

I personally look up to Ricardo and would love to be like him one day. I also believe he's a great hero because he spends time with young New Zealanders to teach them how to surf. Ricardo came out to Phia and gave up his time to teach a bunch of us young keen surfers his skills.

Cross country

On Tuesday Oratia school had Cross country and there were lot's of red faces and my sister came 4th place and she felt pretty happy but she really wish she could got in to the inter schools but she's under 6. When I was doing my cross country I came 3rd place and I felt really happy for myself because I made into THE INTER SCHOOLS! and my face was as red as a tomato. But I felt proud of myself and my mum and dad too.

I was struggling through the desert.At first I saw a plant and I picked it up.I felt exhausted trudging thourgh the wastland.I felt helpfuel trying save the plant.I say to my self “I need to get

it to sunlight”.After a while I climb to the top off the cliff.But before I got to the top I fell,then I tried again.Then I made it .I feel relieved that I made it to the top.At last I dropped the plant into the soil.I felt exhausted but I’m glad it’s over with now>Then I collapsed onto the ground.

What is red? A steaming blood drop coming down from your face.

     SUNDAY!

On Sunday I went to Jump with my cousins. They got me a gaming book, it’s AMAZING! After that we went to the museum. Then after that we went to the lantern festival with Keio, Poppy and of course my family.

All my new movies

On Saturday Izzy and Ruby came over. My mum used my itunes voucher when I went for a surf. I saw Bill and Keio out in the back at south. When I got home I downloaded World war Z, Maze runner 1 and 2. At
9:00 we watched Diary of a wimpy kid Rodrick rules.    

My life in Room 16 (so far)

My days in Rm16 have gone great. I've made new friends and finished all my school work and homework. Rio moved in our class on Monday about 2 weeks ago. My days in Rm16 have been great.
